A Sports Coupe on an offroader’s diet – that’s the niche which BMW seems to have managed successfully with the X6 . Purists might not like its looks but there is no running away from its distinctive styling or personality .
BMW calls it a Sports Activity Coupe and hopes it will appeal to those looking to combine the commanding driving postion of the X5 with coupe-inspired styling and handling .
The X6’s interior is very similar to the X5’s , which is a good thing. The controls too have a high quality feel, something you can expect BMW to always deliver . The X6 is sure to offer a commanding driving position , but rear visibility isn’t great . There’s plenty of leg and elbow room for rear passengers , but that sloping roof means headroom isn’t great . BMW has added the latest xDrive four-wheel-drive system onto the X6,which should help it deliver exceptional grip and traction when you push on . It also gets BMW’s excellent six speed automatic transmissions , which offers seamless power delivery .
