The Offshore Super Series (OSS) is an offshore powerboat racing organization founded in December 2003 by 30 of the top offshore race boat teams in the USA . These are the largest, most powerful racing machines of all, the extreme expense of the boats and the fuel required to participate make it an expensive and elite sport.

“The Lake of the Ozarks is thrilled to be the host site for this prestigious national event,” says Jim Divincen, executive director of the Tri-County Lodging Association (TCLA). “Last year’s OSS race was one of our top two on-water events, generating approximately four million dollars of economic impact in the Lake community.

If you love power and speed then look no further, this is the weekend at Lake of the Ozarks for you! These are no ordinary boat races, OSS Powerboat racing is there to thrill you.

Offshore Super Series Powerboat Racing 2009

Team CRC won the OSS Cat Extreme competition, with Bud Light a close second. The national title went to Team CRC with Lake of the Ozarks boats Bud Light (Dave Scott) and Bad Moon Risin’ (Bob Morgan) finishing second and third in the season long race.

With speeds reaching well over 150mph on a mile-long drag course, boats from all across the United States, Canada, and beyond to view for the honor of being Top Guns . The Shootout brings top racers and off shore racing power boats topping 200 MPH. The largest unsanctioned boat race in the midwest with over 100 racers and 45,000 spectators. Proceeds benefit the Lake Area Rescue Teams, the Red Cross and other charitable organizations!

About Some of the giants in this LakeShootout, The Dave Scott Bud Light Offshore Race Team is one of the most successful offshore race teams in history, having earned eight world championships and ten national championship titles since 2001. The team is also the proud owner of six offshore speed records. Dave Scott, Johnny Tomlinson and Mike Seebold have more than 40 years of combined experience in offshore powerboat racing.

So come and see some really cool and really fast boats race through the course. Boats over 22 feet in length are allowed to run, and race in classes by length, hull design, size of motors, and number of motors throughout the day.

Lake of the Ozarks Shootout being held at Captain Ron’s Bar & Grill August 23 – 29th, 2010 will bring the top racers and off shore racing power boats topping 196 MPH. The largest unsanctioned boat race in the midwest with over 100 racers and 70,000 spectators. Proceeds will benefit the Lake Area Rescue Teams, Habitat for Humanity, and other charitable organizations!
