When the first time Bajaj Auto revealed Pulsar 200NS, thrilled bike enthusiasts in the country began waiting for Pulsar 200NS to hit the showroom. Bajaj Auto first declared that it will launch Pulsar 200NS sometime in April. However, the motorcycle has not hit showroom till date. But, the wait for Pulsar 200NS is over now. According to Rajiv Bajaj’s exclusive interview with CNBC TV-18, Pulsar 200NS will hit the showroom in Maharashtra in the next week. The company will launch Pulsar 200NS in phased manner and it is expected to be available countrywide by the month of July.

Yamaha launches new variants in the popular FZ series. The revamped series is set to take bikers by storm with the new and dazzling improvements. Vibrant colors and graphics is just the tip of the ice berg. The FZ series always scored high on the looks and now it is designed to fulfill the need for style and comfort. The new variant is engraved with technique and is in sync with style conscious customers.

The new variants of FZ-S and Fazer come with new features, color and graphics. The cool and exciting graphics make the bikes look super-stylish and they also offer a contemporary and sporty look. The two variants also have a longer and wider pillion seat and a stylish grab bar. The new variants of these bikes are placed in the price segment of Rs 69,250 and Rs 76,380 (Ex-showroom Delhi). The new FZ series is available at Rs 69,250, and the FZ-S and Fazer are priced at Rs 71,280 and Rs 76,380 respectively.

2012 Bajaj Discover

The existing bike has 5 gears and the new variant will sport 4 gears in turn shedding close to Rs 2000 from the existing price of the bike. This would also ensure Bajaj a better and more competitive entry point and would equip them to face the soon to be launched, Dream Yuga from Honda. Though we have not ridden the bike but it would be imperative to think that the new gearbox would be more focused to city driving ensuring there is abundant power at lower and mid revs to enable smooth operation in city traffics. It would be interesting to see if there is any mileage drop reported on the new 4 geared version.

There do not seem to be any other changes in the new model. Discover 100 would continue to be powered by a 94.38cc 4 stroke engine which pumps out 7.7PS of power and 7.85Nm of torque.
It is also not known whether the existing 5 gear model will continue to be sold along with the new 4 gear model. We feel it would be better if Bajaj discontinues the 5 gear model to reduce any kind of confusion to buyers and this seems very much possible. There doesn’t seem to be any official word from Bajaj on this development. The bike has already reached dealerships and there is no visual change on the product.

TVS Apache RTR bikes have finally got the much awaited refresh with the company unveiling the new 2012 Apache RTR 160cc and 180cc bike models, in case you have missed, we previously posted about the new RTR leaked pictures and teaser here. There will be three models of the new Apache RTR in India, Apache RTR 160cc priced at Rs. 67,505, Apache RTR 180cc priced at Rs. 72,090 and Apache RTR 180cc with ABS at Rs. 82,780.
